As the HR Director, for a hospital with 750 employees, I have been asked to find best practices for call back pay paid out to our surgical services staff when they are called back to the hospital to handle a case. Are you aware of white papers or best practices research I may look to for reference?

This is a highly technical topic. While we can’t recommend white papers, there are two organizations that might be able to help you. The first is SHRM, the Society of Human Resource Managers. You should be able to contact HR Directors from other hospitals, to provide resources for this search.

The second organization that might be helpful is the Joint Commission, which offers white papers and guidance on a number of issues that relate specifically to health care.
