Does the law require payment of accrued vacation or other time upon termination in the State of NH?
According to the FAQs on the New Hampshire Department of Labor website, employers must inform workers of company policies regarding fringe benefits (including vacation) in writing at the time of hire.
The state will then require that the employer follow those policies.
So if a New Hampshire employer has a written policy that unused vacation will be paid upon termination, then the employer must do so. However, most employers specifically have the policy that unused vacation time will not be paid upon termination.
Usually these policies can be found in the employee handbook.
