Can I still collect short term disability even though I am collecting from workers comp? I have been out of work for 2 1/2 months because I was hurt on the job.
Normally an employee can’t collect short term disability and workers’ comp at the same time. Usually short term disability insurance policies prohibit this.
An employee who is unable to work due to a job-related injury should be collecting all of this or her salary. So “double dipping” by collecting unemployment or disability at the same time would in most cases be fraud under the law.
