Can I work part time while collecting temporary disability benefits from the state of New Jersey? I am a NJ state employee in the human services division. I am recieving bi weekly payments from state but they are only about 70% of my salary and I can not work full time due to psychiatric problems that will be resolved with in 3 months. But until I get back to work I’d like to work about 15 hours at say a tanning salon or somewhere that dosn’t have a difficult work load.
You will want to check directly with the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development regarding your particular situation. However, normally any money earned while collecting NJ disability must be reported, and reduces the worker’s disability benefits.
