Timing of Writeup

Performance Management
Performance Appraisal Review
Employee Performance Evaluation Form
Performance Improvement Plan
Employee Warning Notice
Employee Counseling Report
Employee Final Warning Notice

I was told I was going to get written up about an incident where I yelled at someone. That was 15 days ago  and I have yet to receive anything. What should I do?

Thanks,

Ashley

There are two possibilities here. 1) The supervisor wrote you up, but failed to discuss the writeup with you or ask you to sign it. That would be poor management, but unfortunately, it does occur. You can’t even claim you didn’t know about it, since you have been told. 2) The supervisor decided not to write you up this time. In that case, you have little to gain by bringing the matter up. The best course of action would be to not mention it, not yell at anyone else, and assume that you have one writeup in your file. Of course, you can always ask about it…but you may just be reminding a supervisor who has forgotten, to write you up.
