In Alabama, are employers required to pay workers for unused vacation and sick pay upon termination?
No. Very few states require that employers pay workers for unused sick time upon termination.
A dozen or so states do require that employers pay workers for unused vacation time upon termination — but Alabama is not one of them. In fact, the state has very few labor laws. It even lacks a state minimum wage law.
