Do men make better human resource managers than women?

Not necessarily. There are excellent HR pros of both sexes — and there are bad Human Resource managers of both sexes. Male HR managers earn slightly more than female HR managers, for several reasons. That is probably due to a bit of sexism, as well as the fact that the men are less likely to interrupt their career to care for new babies or elderly parents. Human Resources requires excellent interpersonal skills including empathy and reading non-verbal communication. Several psychological studies show that, on average, women are better at these skills than men.

Hiring an HR manager based on sex rather than qualifications would be illegal discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
