Incetives to improve attendance

Does anyone have any recommendations or good incentive programs to help improve or maintain attendance?

Incentive programs can be beneficial and there are a plethora of ideas out there (just search Google for “employee attendance incentives”). However, an attendance incentive program may have a negative impact to be aware of. Encouraging workers to come to work sick to gain incentives can send a bad message to employees about the importance of health and wellness and work/life balance. Ill workers coming to work to pass the sickness around will also increase the time off of other, affected, employees and potentially increase costs associated with health insurance.
