Washington state law for hours off in between shifts

What is the Washington state law for hours off in between shifts?

Like most states, Washington does not specify how many hours you must give employees between shifts. A shift of any length is generally lawful. Theoretically, an employee could get off at midnight and be required to report for the next shift at 5 am. Obviously, those would be very poor working conditions, but they would be lawful in Washington and most other states, for employees over 18 in general industry.

Different rules apply for employees under 18, or for workers in some specialized industries.
