Do NY State Labor Laws require any breaks for an individual with an 8 hour shift starting at 12pm ending at 8pm?

New York employment law requires that employees who work a shift of more than six hours, which extends over the noonday meal period (defined as being from 11 am – 2 pm), are entitled to at least thirty minutes off within that period for the meal period.
