What is the law on rest breaks in massachusetts

Massachusetts law does not require an employer to provide rest periods or breaks. Massachusetts law does require an employer to provide a thirty minute meal break (period) during a shift lasting more than six hours. This lunch period is unpaid, and it does follow federal law stating that any lunch period lasting 30 minutes or more is not considered work time and is unpaid.
