Does the State of Hawaii have any limitations to a PTO plan? Can I establish a plan that does not allow for accrual of PTO ie use it or lose it?

Hawaii doesn’t require employers to provide employees with paid time off or impose restrictions on the administration of such policies. Thus, a use it or lose it policy is permissible. If an employer chooses to offer paid time off, it must comply with the terms of its own policy or established practice. Also, employers in Hawaii are required to provide to each employee in writing or through a posted notice maintained in a place accessible to employees, policies with regard to vacation and sick leave.
