Job Postings

Are there any laws in Washington State that require jobs to be posted anywhere for any length of time before hiring someone?

Most, if not all, regulatory mandated job postings refer to a job opening simply being posted before its filled. For example, federal contractors and many public agencies are required to post job openings. Requirements for the actual length of the posting usually come from collective bargaining agreements or an employer’s own policy.

There is no regulation that I could locate in Washington State requiring a private sector employer to post job openings let alone post them for a specified duration of time.

Many employers choose to post their job openings to ensure equal employment opportunities.
